El Camino College (5-5-2, 0-2-1) dropped a tough 3-0 decision to Compton College (9-2-1, 3-1-0) in a South Coast Conference matchup on Friday afternoon at Tay Brown Stadium in Compton, Calif.
The Warriors gave up two goals in the first half to Compton's Ivan Vasquez. Cesar Amezcua's net was under siege from the Tartars in the first half as Compton tallied 11 shots and Amezcua was credited with six saves.
Compton added a third goal in the 82nd minute from Ignacio Carrillo.
Hector Gutierrez played in goal for the second half for the Warriors, making his third appearance overall this season and first since September 5th vs Glendale. Gutierrez made two saves in the second half for the Warriors.
Overall, the ECC offense was contained by a determined Tartar defense that held the Warriors to six shots, with Brian Burrell credited with the lone shot on goal.
El Camino College will return to action on Tuesday, October 10th vs LA Harbor in a SCC conference game at 4:00 PM at Murdock Stadium.
