TORRANCE, Calif. – Amiete Nyingifa recorded a double-double and Hunter Noa scored in double digits but El Camino College saw its six-game winning streak come to an end with a 53-49 loss to West Los Angeles Tuesday night at the ECC North Gym.
Nyingifa led the Warriors (6-1) with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Noa scored 12 on 4-for-8 shooting including 3-for-5 from 3-point range. But the Warriors turned the ball over 23 times resulting in 14 points for the Wildcats (8-2).
For the Wildcats, Audrina Villela and Daija Black led the way with 14 points apiece.
The Warriors jumped on the Wildcats in the first half and jumped out to a 22-12 lead at the half. The Warriors held the Wildcats to just five points in the second quarter on 2-for-13 shooting.
But the Wildcats returned the favor, holding the Warriors to 1-for-13 shooting, outscoring them 18-4 to take a four-point lead after three.
The Wildcats also got great contributions from their reserves as they outscored the Warriors bench 15-2.
The Warriors will now look to bounce back Friday evening when they travel to Irvine Valley. Tipoff is set for 5 p.m.
