Copeland was a member of the 1990 state championship team. The Warriors’ defender scored the first goal of the state title game against Santa Rosa, her only tally of the season. The Warriors would go on to win 3-1 and claim the first state title of the modern era in women’s soccer. She was named First Team All-Conference and First Team All-State as a freshman. In addition to playing soccer, she was also a member of the women’s volleyball team while at ECC. She would go on to become a member of UCLA’s first ever women’s soccer team in 1993.
