Bio

Barnes is one of the more accomplished field athletes in school history. She won the 1986 Southern California and State Championship in the discus with a throw of 151 feet, 11 inches. 
It set the school record which still stands to the present day. Barnes is also third all-time at ECC in the shot put (44 feet, 6.25 inches) and the javelin (149 feet, 11 inches). 
Barnes would go on to transfer to the University of Nebraska where she graduated with bachelor of arts in sociology. She was named an indoor NCAA All-American in 1988.
