Bio
Courtney Spainhour remains one of the most storied players to ever suit up for women’s volleyball. The outside hitter and Redondo Beach native was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in both of her seasons with the Warriors. Spainhour recorded 311 kills as a freshman and followed that up with 334 as a sophomore in 2003. Her 645 career kills ranks fifth in the ECC record booksand she is just one of six players in school history to log more than 600 career kills. In addition, Spainhour ranks second all-time in career service aces (88) and her 809 total digs also rank fifth in ECC history. Spainhour would go on to transfer to Cal State Dominguez Hills to continue her volleyball career and she led the Toros in kills, digs, attacks and total points during her junior season. In her first year with the Toros Spainhour recorded 304 kills and 340 digs. In 2022, Spainhour was named one of the top 75 women’s athletes in the ECC history during the college’s 75th anniversary celebration.
