Dale Hewitt was a member of the 1967 and 1968 Warriors football teams. He was a member of the 1968 squad that went 9-0 during the regular season, the third undefeated regular season posted by a Warriors team at that point. Hewitt was a two-way player in both seasons, playing wide receiver and defensive back. He was the defensive captain on the 1968 team, which won the Metro Conference. He was named to the All-Metro Conference Second Team on defense in 1968. Hewitt would continue his playing career at Cal State Northridge and also signed as a free agent to play baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals. Hewitt was an assistant coach for the Warriors from 1971-73 and was a member of the ECC Hall of Fame committee in 1988-89. Hewitt was also named a member of the Warriors All-Decade Team for the 1960s.
