Henry Qualifies for SoCal Regionals

COSTA MESA, Calif. --- Freshman Aden Henry earned an individual at-large bid after his performance at the Orange Empire Conference Finals hosted by Orange Coast College at the Los Lagos Course at Costa Mesa Country Club.

Henry posted rounds of 73 and 74 on Wednesday in which teams played 36 holes to determine the conference champions and automatic qualifiers to the upcoming 3C2A SoCal Regionals. Henry earned one of five individual at-large bids to advance to the conference. Five teams from the OEC qualified for the regionals.

Henry started the day with a 1-over 73 at the Par-72 Los Lagos course to tie for 15th place on a day where many players had their way with the course. In round one, eight players broke par with OEC Individual Champion Cory Rose of Victor Valley led the way with a 4-under 68.

In round two, OCC's Matt Ingram carded a 6-under 66 as seven players shot in red numbers including three players from the host Pirates. In fact, OCC logged the low team round with a 5-under 355, the first time any team recorded a cumulative score under par in a conference event.

For the Warriors, Henry would post a 2-over 74 to again tie for 15th place in the final round.

Henry will travel to the 3C2A SoCal Regionals on May 5, marking the second straight year at least one Warriors golfer has qualified for the postseason.

But prior to that, Henry will participate at the SoCal Regional Preview at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills, Calif. to get acquainted with the course on April 30.
