Men’s Soccer Moves Up To No.4 in the United Soccer Coaches NJCAA DIII Poll

United Soccer Coaches Top 10 NJCAA DIII National Poll 4

The El Camino College men's soccer team continued undefeated start to the season has gained them national recognition as they were ranked No.4 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NJCAA DIII's poll. The Warriors moved up a spot from previousy being ranked No. 5.  They remain ranked No.3 in the state and No.1 overall in Southern California in the CCCSIA rankings.

Of the the 20 teams ranked, there are tens schools from the CCCAA.  Hartnell is the highest ranked CCCAA team at the No.3 spot while El Camino is above No.6 Mt Sac, No. 8 Taft, No.10 Fresno, No.14 Fullerton, No. 16 De Anza, No. 17 Cerritos, No.18 Folsom Lake.  Mt. Sac and Cerritos College are both in the South Coast Conference with EL Camino and Fullerton College is the only other Southern California team in the rankings.  

The Warriors are off to a perfect 7-0 start to the season and trying to match their 2019 pace where they started the season 8-0-1.  They have outscored their opponents 19-6 so far to the season.  Andy Cabrera leads the team overall with 12 points off five goals and two assists. Mario Carlos is second with 11 points with five goals and one assist. Luis Garibay is 7-0 with 16 saves, three clean sheets, and a 0.86 goals allowed average.

The Warriors are home against Bakersfield on Tuesday and travel to Citrus College on Friday to wrap up nonconference play. They begin South Coast Conference play starting next week at home on Tuesday against Compton.
