Men’s Soccer Gains Bevy of Postseason Honors

TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College men's soccer team was the recipient of many postseason accolades in the last few weeks.

UNITED SOCCER COACHES' ALL-AMERICA TEAMS

FIRST TEAM

Marvin Gamez, Midfielder
Charlie Cazares, Midfielder

Gamez earned his second straight selection to the USC All-America Team while Cazares garnered his first selection in his last year with the Warriors.

Gamez led the Warriors in scoring with 10 goals and 10 assists for 30 points during the regular season. He was named the South Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Cazares tied for the team lead with 10 assists and added two goals on the season while playing in 20 of the Warriors' 21 matches.

USC SCHOLAR ALL-AMERICA TEAMS

FIRST TEAM

Diego Garcia, Forward

Garcia became the fifth Warriors player to be named to the USC Scholar All-America Team and the second straight selection to the first team. Garcia posted a 3.53 GPA as a business major in his sophomore season with the Warriors. Garcia played in all 21 matches for the Warriors this year, making 20 starts. He scored three goals including one game-winner while adding an assist on the season.

ALL-WEST REGION FIRST TEAM

Marvin Gamez, Midfielder

ALL-WEST REGION SECOND TEAM

Franco De Luna, Defender

Gamez earned his second straight USC All-Region First Team selection while De Luna got his first nod to the second team. De Luna started in all 21 matches for the Warriors on the back line and was named the SCC Defensive Player of the Year. He scored two goals and added three assists to go along with his outstanding defense during the year.

Gamez and De Luna each earned All-State and All-Region selections for their accomplishments during the 2024 season.

No. 5 – El Camino College

One year after being named the USC National Champions, the Warriors wrapped up the season as the No. 5 ranked team in the nation after going 14-3-4 overall during the season.
