Warriors Net First Victory of Season, Then Drop Match to Desert

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College recorded its first victory of the season before falling in a second match to College of the Desert on Tuesday at the ECC Tennis Courts.

Tarik Hossain netted the Warriors their first win of the season as he won his tiebreaker against Chandra Ishikawa. The two players had to have their game suspended back on Feb. 11 at COD due to darkness tied at 14-14. The match was resumed on Tuesday and Hossain pulled out the win to clinch the match.

In the regularly scheduled match for the two teams, the teams were tied after doubles action as the Warriors got a win on court one with the Roadrunners taking court two. Neither team had enough players to have a third doubles match.

In the singles action, Shubham Waldiya and Brandon Livernois recorded three-set wins for ECC but the Roadrunners won the other three matches to clinch the match.

The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday, March 11 with two matches scheduled at Imperial Valley.
