El Camino College Athletics Mourns the Passing of Max Hale
The El Camino College Athletics department is saddened to announce the death of Max Hale, a student athlete for the ECC men's water polo team in 2024.
Hale recorded one of the greatest offensive seasons by a Warrior in men's water polo history. In 2024, he scored 110 goals to lead the team, a mark which stands as the second most goals in a single season in program history.
Hale's 110 goals, 59 assists and 64 steals earned him an All-Southern California Second Team selection as well as an All-SCC First Team nod in 2024.
With Hale leading the way offensively, the 2024 Warriors posted a 23-13 overall record, tying the most wins in a single season in Warriors history. They advanced to the 3C2A postseason for the first time since 2019 and third time overall dating back to 1993.
"He was an amazing athlete and fantastic teammate who had a tremendous impact in his one season with us," Warriors head coach Noah Rubke said. "Max was the epitome of a Warrior and he will be missed by his family, friends, teammates and coaches."
