TORRANCE, Calif. --- No. 5 El Camino College won its ninth straight game with an 11-3 decision over Santa Ana in six innings at the ECC Softball Field.
The Warriors wrapped up their non-conference slate with their 17th run-rule win of the year. Savanna Kastigar and Cheyenne Navarro each went 2-for-3 with Kastigar scoring three times and Navarro driving in a pair of RBIs.
Emma Garcia and Morgan Knight also had two RBIs on the day as the Warriors pounded out 10 hits including three triples.
Lexi Ramirez picked up her 23rd win of the season in the circle as she allowed three hits, walked one and struck out three in 4 and 1/3 innings of work.
The Warriors jumped out to a 6-0 lead after three innings but Santa Ana made it interesting with three runs off reliever Mahlia Espino in the fourth.
But the Warriors responded with a four-run fourth of their own to put the Dons on the brink and then Gianna Gachupin came around to score on a throwing error in the sixth to lock down the win.
The Warriors finished the non-conference portion of their record with a 13-3 record. They will wrap up their conference slate with three games in three days beginning Monday with a road game at Mount San Antonio.
