Ramirez Named Co-Pitcher of the Year as Eight Warriors Named All-Conference
Sophomore Lexi Ramirez highlighted El Camino College's eight selections to the 2025 All-South Coast Conference Team, which was announced Friday.
Ramirez was named the SCC Co-Pitcher of the Year after a record-setting season with the Warriors. The sophomore right-hander finished the regular season with a 24-7 overall record and 173 strikeouts. She ranked second in the conference in strikeouts and first in wins. Both marks were also new ECC records with her 24 victories eclipsing the record by six wins which were set by Clarissa Chiquete in 2018 and Haley Reed in 2017. Ramirez has also shattered the strikeouts record by an ECC pitcher by more than 100 whiffs. The previous mark on record was 71 strikeouts by Kim Qualls in 1993.*
Along with Ramirez, the Warriors had two players selected to the All-SCC First Team (Savanna Kastigar, Cheyenne Navarro); two to the second team (Emma Garcia, Lilly Lewis) and three were honorable mention (Anahi Pintado, Jackie Ordonez, Emily Gamboa.
Kastigar led the Warriors with a .500 batting average and finished second in the conference. She logged an SCC best eight triples and finished the regular season with 62 hits. She was second on the team with 44 runs scored and stole a team-high 25 bases in 40 games.
Navarro missed nine games due to injury and was still one of the best players in the conference, earning her second straight first team selection. She led the conference with a .573 on-base percentage. She was third on the team with 39 total hits including a team-high five home runs. She added six doubles, six triples and 26 RBIs. Her .889 slugging percentage led the team and is currently on pace to be a Warriors record pending the team's results in the postseason.
Garcia earned All-SCC honors for the second straight year after being named to the first team in 2024. She played in all 40 games for the Warriors in 2025 and was second on the team with 51 hits. It was her second straight 50-plus hit season as she batted .402 in 40 regular season games. She led the team with 45 runs scored and nine doubles while also stealing 18 bases.
Lewis had an incredible sophomore year for the Warriors as she batted .414 in 35 games. She tallied 36 hits with six doubles and 24 RBIs. Lewis led the team with 18 walks and was fourth on the team with a .514 on-base percentage during the regular season. She was also third on the team with 15 stolen bases.
Pintado played in 33 games during the regular season for the Warriors, making 32 starts. She batted .288 with 21 hits and eight RBIs. She was perfect defensively playing primarily behind the plate as she did not commit an error in 158 total chances. She also stifled the opposition's running game as she threw out 44.4 percent of would-be base stealers during the year. She allowed 10 stolen bases while throwing out eight would-be base stealers.
Ordonez was the anchor of the defense in the outfield, playing in all 40 games of the regular season in center field. She did not make an error in 50 chances in center field while making a number of incredible diving catches throughout the season. She also batted .323 with 30 hits including four doubles and one triple. She scored 23 runs, drove in 12 RBIs and stole 10 bases on the year.
Gamboa was another Warriors player that started in all 40 games during the year. She batted .336 with 36 hits including six doubles and one triple. She was third on the team with 44 RBIs.
