TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College secured a 3-0 South Coast Conference win over East Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors were beneficiaries of three unearned runs thanks to three Huskies errors. Estrella Tapia tossed a complete-game shutout in the circle for ECC as she allowed just four hits and struck out three.

Sophia Munguia was 2-for-2 for the Warriors with Miranda Morelos and Jazmin McHenry recording the other two hits for the ECC offense on Thursday.

The game was scoreless through three innings before the Warriors took advantage of a Huskies error to take a 1-0 lead. Morelos was hit by a pitch with one out and then stole second to get into scoring position. Kate Pedroza then hit a pop fly in the infield that was dropped by the Huskies' defense, allowing Morelos to score and give the Warriors the lead.

In the sixth, Emily Gamboa reached on a two-out walk and then Morelos hit an infield single. Sebrena Lopez tried to get Morelos at first with a throw from her knees but she missed the target, allowing pinch-runner Brooklyn Bernas to score all the way from first.

Athena Singer then pinch ran for Morelos and she would score on another throwing error by the Huskies' infield to make it 3-0. Overall, the Warriors scored all three of their runs with only one hit recorded and three East LA errors.

Tapia did the rest as she got the Huskies to strand eight runners on base in the game.

The Warriors will wrap up the week on Friday afternoon as they host Citrus for non-conference tilt at 1 p.m.
