TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College suffered an 8-6 non-conference loss to Citrus on Friday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

The Warriors gave up six runs in the first two innings and it proved too much to overcome despite scoring six times and collecting nine hits.

Jazmin McHenry went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Melissa Terrazas also collected two hits with a run scored.

The Owls scored three times in the first inning but the Warriors answered with two runs in their half of the frame to trail by one run.

In the second, the Owls scored three more times and the Warriors again answered with two runs to make it 6-4 after two innings. The Warriors would trim the deficit to one run twice but the Owls found an answer each time to keep the Warriors down by two.

In the seventh, the Warriors got the potential tying runs on base with two outs but Terrazas popped up to short to end the game.

The Warriors will return to action on Tuesday afternoon to host L.A. Harbor in South Coast Conference action. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
