Merced, Pedroza Lead Offensive Explosion in Win over L.A. Harbor
TORRANCE, Calif. --- Gabby Merced and Kate Pedroza had great days offensively as El Camino College defeated L.A. Harbor 10-2 in five innings on Tuesday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.
Merced and Pedroza each tallied three hits and three RBIs as the Warriors erupted for 14 hits and 10 runs altogether to complete the season sweep over the Seahawks.
Raquel Alonso picked up the win in the circle as she tossed four innings and allowed one run on five hits. She walked one and struck out two.
Jazmin McHenry pitched in the fifth inning and allowed one run on one hit with one walk and one strikeout. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with one run scored and one RBI.
Merced provided the game-winning hit in the bottom of the fifth as she singled up the middle to plate Bryanna Morales from second base with the game-winning run to trigger the run rule.
The Warriors will return to action on Thursday afternoon with a non-conference game against San Diego Mesa. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
