TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College swept a non-conference doubleheader against Santa Ana on Saturday afternoon at the ECC Softball Field.

GAME ONE: Warriors 2, Dons 0

Offense was at a premium in the first game of the day as the teams combined for just nine hits with only one for extra bases.

The Warriors finally broke through in the sixth on some great baserunning by Miranda Morelos. With runners on second and third, Kate Pedroza chopped a ball back to the pitcher, who looked Morelos back to third before getting the out at first base.

But Morelos took off on the throw and beat the throw back to the plate from first with an excellent slide that got her just under the tag attempt by catcher Nayelli De Jesus.

The Warriors would add another on an infield single by Melissa Terrazas to plate Sophia Munguia from third to make it 2-0.

Raquel Alonso did the rest as she pitched a complete-game shutout. She allowed just four hits and walked two while striking out four to improve her pitching record to 10-4 on the season.

GAME TWO: Warriors 9, Dons 0 (5 Innings)

In the second game, the Warriors scored in every inning including five runs in the first to take control of the game and never looked back.

Emma Padilla opened the scoring with a two-run single through the right side in the opening frame. The Warriors would add another on an error and then Terrazas smacked another two-run single to center field to make it 5-0 after one.

The Warriors finished with eight hits in the game from eight different players. Estrella Tapia got the win in the circle as she went four innings and allowed just one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

The Warriors will return to South Coast Conference action on Tuesday with a road contest at Mt. San Antonio.
