Samayoa Breaks Meet Record at Mt. SAC Invitational

WALNUT, Calif. --- El Camino College completed its weekend at Mount San Antonio College on Saturday, competing in the Mt. SAC Invitational.

Sophomore Iyanah Samayoa had the highlight of the meet for the Warriors as she set a new meet record in the 400 individual medley, taking first place with a time of 4:38.96. She broke a 17-year old record that was set by Alex Peters in 2008 when she posted a time of 4:38.99.

Samyoa scored the only victory of the day for the Warriors as the women finished 11th overall with 85 points in a 21-team field. On the men's side, the Warriors placed 12th overall with 65 points in a 19-team field. Santa Barbara placed first on the women's side while the host Mounties finished first for the men.

The Warriors will return to action on Friday, March 7 at the Riverside Invitational.
