Swimming Scores Wins at Final Dual Meet of Season

MONTERREY PARK, Calif. --- El Camino College wrapped up the conference dual meet season on Friday when they traveled to East Los Angeles to take on the host Huskies and Rio Hondo.

On the women's side, the Warriors swept both opponents as ECC defeated Rio Hondo 163-55 and scored a 153-92 win over the host Huskies.

For the men, the Warriors beat ELAC 211-36. On the season, the men finished the conference season with a 5-1 record in dual meets while the women went 5-2 overall.

A number of Warriors recorded stellar swims in Friday's meet with the standouts including:

  • Koichiro Ambe posted the fifth best time in ECC history in the 200 butterfly, finishing with a time of 55.75.
  • Gio Wheeler now owns the eight best time in the 100 IM after finishing in 56.65.
  • Olivia Mozian swam the 100 backstroke in 1:03.06, the ninth best time in ECC history.
  • Jasmine Eskander is now 13th all-time in ECC history in the 200 IM with a time of 2:21.76.

The Warriors will now take part in the Pasadena/East LA Invitational hosted at ELAC. The event runs from Thursday through Saturday and will serve as the Warriors' final tune up before the South Coast Conference Championships on April 16-18.
