Track and Field Wraps Regular Season at South Coast Conference Championships

LONG BEACH, Calif. --- The El Camino College track and field team finished up the 2025 regular season at the South Coast Conference Championships on Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Long Beach City College.

The Warriors finished fourth overall in the team standings on the men's side while the women placed fifth. Mount San Antonio claimed the SCC team title in both the men's and women's competition.

The Warriors crowned one conference champion overall this week with Tilliana Wakefield-Carl's victory in the pole vault on Saturday.

Here are the rest of the highlights following the conclusion of the rest of the finals on Saturday:

  • Laighton Scott placed second in the discus with a distance of 43.43 meters (142 feet, 6 inches). He missed out on a conference title by less than one meter as Toni Babatunde of Mt. SAC took first place with a mark of 44.09m.
  • Savanna Mullins placed third in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:09.22.
  • Isla Gonzalez finished fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.30m (4 feet, 3.25 inches).
  • Joshua Long, Scott, Angelos Sarreas and Gunner Perez all finished in the top 10 in the javelin. Long paced the quartet with a fifth-place finish (42.79m / 140 feet, 4 inches).
  • Ty McCormick placed fifth in the 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:13.42.
  • Aaron Cohen finished fifth in the 5000m with a time of 15:38.83.
  • Arianna Hurtado was sixth in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:13.30. She also placed seventh in the 5000m with a time of 19:34.48.
  • Perez (15.85) and Curtis Williams (16.01) finished sixth and seventh in the 110m high hurdles.
  • Sarreas (1.70m / 5 feet, 7 inches) and Griffin Esperon (1.65m / 5 feet, 5 inches) finished seventh and eighth in the high jump respectively.
  • Amir Young placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.23m (40 feet, 1.5 inches).
  • Jasmin Williams finished eighth in the long jump (4.70m / 15 feet, 5 inches).
  • Christine Adams placed eighth in the 400m with a time of 1:03.51.

The Warriors will next compete at the 3C2A Southern California Championships, which begins with the prelims on Saturday May 3 at Saddleback College.
