Wakefield-Carl Highlights Warriors Performances at SoCal Finals
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. --- El Camino College had six athletes compete at the 3C2A Southern California Championship Finals on Saturday at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Tilliana Wakefield-Carl highlighted the Warriors' performances at the finals as she finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.40 meters (11 feet, 1.75 inches). Kaylee Tan of San Diego Mesa won the title with a mark of 3.55m (11 feet, 7.75 inches).
Teammate Valentina Amescua also participated in the finals but did not record a mark on Saturday.
In the men's discus, Laighton Scott finished fifth in the finals with a throw of 43.04m (141 feet, 2 inches).
Aaron Cohen placed sixth in the 5,000m with a time of 15:41.76 while Arianna Hurtado placed ninth in the women's event with a time of 20:16.38.
Angelos Sarreas placed 11th in the javelin with a throw of 39.39m (129 feet, 2 inches).
The Warriors will conclude the 2025 season at the 3C2A State Championships beginning on Friday, May 16 at the College of San Mateo.
