Gore and Winyaworapon Claim Consolation Title at State Championships

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. --- El Camino College's Anya Gore and Montila Winyaworapon claimed the consolation title on Saturday at the 3C2A State Championships hosted by City College of San Francisco.

The duo defeated Jessica Ho and Maria Yau Zhang of CCSF in a three-set thriller (20-22, 21-18, 21-13) to advance to the consolation finals.

In the finals, Gore and Winyaworapon defeated Christina Nguyen and Thien Nguyen in two sets (21-16, 24-22) to claim the consolation title.

In singles action, Gore dropped her consolation semifinal match to Mylene Keophaseut of San Diego Mesa (21-8, 21-13) to put an end to her singles season.
