Women’s Basketball Takes the Win on the Road at LA Harbor 87-52

WILMINGTON, Calif. - The Warriors hit the hardwood hard and came away with yet another win. El Camino faced off against conference rivals LA Harbor College on Wednesday night and won 87-52. With the win, the Warriors are 8-1 in conference play while they hold an overall record of 13-10. Kasey Takahashi led the Warriors, scoring 20 points. Meghan Peneueta and Kayla Bibb also scored in the double digits.

Coach Steve Shaw shared one of the reasons the Warriors' were able to take the game. "Our depth was a big factor, contributions by many players." He continued, "We won all four quarters to gradually build the lead."

Takahashi was 6-10 on her shots and was a rebound shy of earning a double-double. She also had six assists on the night. Peneueta began the scoring for the Warriors with a three pointer less than a minute into the game. She recorded 17 points and seven rebounds. Bibb was the third highest scoring Warrior, nailing 14 points, six rebounds and four blocked shots.

The Warriors return home on Friday night for the final game of the regular season to matchup against Cerritos College. The game is scheduled for 7pm.
