Women’s Volleyball Opens Conference Play with Pair of Sweeps

El Camino College officially began the defense of its South Coast Conference title this week, opening SCC play with a pair of sweeps over L.A. Harbor and Cerritos.

Jocelyn Lacroix and Mikayla Clark led the offense as the Warriors opened conference action with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-20) victory over L.A. Harbor at the ECC South Gym. Clark led the way with 15 kills and 12 digs while Lacroix went for 12 kills with a .385 kill percentage (12-2-26). Caitlin Donatucci dished out 30 assists and Kelly Donatucci led the defense with 18 digs.

Clark posted 13 kills to lead the Warriors and Caitlin Donatucci recorded 34 assists as the Warriors dominated Cerritos 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-13) on Friday night at The Aviary.

The Warriors trailed three times in the entire match with their biggest deficit coming in the third and final set when the Falcons jumped out to a 3-0 lead. The Warriors answered with a 13-0 run to essentially put the set and match away.

The Warriors will return to action Wednedsay night as Mount San Antonio visits the ECC South Gym. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
