WALNUT, Calif. --- El Camino College split the day at the South Coast Conference Tournament hosted by Mt. San Antonio in Walnut, Calif.
The Warriors trounced Chaffey in round one and then fell to Mt. SAC in the second round.
WARRIORS 15, CHAFFEY 4
Olivia Mozian led the team with four goals with Yanie Camarador adding three with three steals in the victory. Carleigh Clark made nine saves on 13 shots faced in the victory.
The Warriors controlled the match early, taking a 12-4 lead by halftime and then held the Panthers scoreless in the second half to advance to the semifinals.
MT. SAC 14, WARRIORS 9
A tough first quarter proved to be the difference as the Warriors surrendered six goals in the opening frame and trailed 6-3 after one. The Warriors were able to trim the deficit to two by halftime but they could never come all the way back against the host Mounties.
Camarador led the team with four goals on five shots with Mozian and Savanna Kastigar adding two goals apiece. Clark made four saves in the loss.
The Warriors will now face Cerritos on Saturday in the third-place match for the second year in a row. The Warriors downed the Falcons last season to secure third in conference for the first time in program history.
