Freshman Jadeyn Skefich was named the California Community College Cross Country and Track Coaches' Association female athlete of the week, it was announced Monday.

Skefich logged her second straight victory to begin the season on Friday morning as El Camino College participated in the Oxnard Invitational at Oxnard College.

The freshman finished the 5,000m course in 18:07.7, already improving on her winning time from last week at the Pirate Invitational in Ventura.

She finished nearly 11 seconds better than Angeles Feliciano in second place, who ran unattached. Skefich held a 1:12.3 margin over her next closes community college competitor; Jessica Vigil of Mount San Antonio. It was the second straight week she finished more than a minute better than the next best community college competitor.

The Warriors are off this week but will return to action on Friday, Sept. 19 at the Golden West Central Park Classic.
