Baseball Gets No. 9 Seed, Hosts No. 16 Saddleback in First Round

TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College baseball team earned the No. 9 seed in the 2025 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs, it was announced Sunday.

The Warriors will host No. 16 seed Saddleback in the opening round, which begins Friday, May 2 at Warrior Field for a best-of-three series. Game two will be played Saturday at 11 a.m. with a third and deciding game taking place 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game if necessary.

The Warriors finished the regular season with a 28-12 overall record and 16-8 mark in the South Coast Conference to place third. They concluded the season on a seven-game winning streak.

The Bobcats enter the playoffs with a 24-16 overall record and 10-11 mark in Orange Empire Conference action.

This will be the second postseason meeting between the two teams in the last three seasons after the Warriors faced the Bobcats at the Saddleback Super Regional in 2003. The Warriors dropped two straight to the Bobcats (8-1, 3-0) to get eliminated.
