Six Players Earn All-Conference Honors

2025 All-South Coast Conference Team Release

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College had six players named to the 2025 All-South Coast Conference Team, it was announced Wednesday.

Cameron O'Neil, Dylan Mares, Lucas Bonham and Slater Nunez were all named to the All-SCC First Team with Matt Hammond and Tyler Tellenbach earning spots on the All-SCC Second Team.

O'Neil led the team on the mound with an 8-3 record in 10 starts. He posted a 2.80 ERA in 70.2 innings pitched and recorded 68 strikeouts. He played in 34 games overall and had 20 hits including three doubles and two triples during the regular season.

Mares did not make it into the starting lineup full time until March 1 and then never came out of it as he had a 15-game hitting streak in his first 15 games as the starting designated hitter. He finished the year with 34 hits in 26 total games. He batted .400 with 31 runs scored while posting five doubles and a team-high eight home runs. He added 29 RBIs and slugged a team-best .741.

Bonham played in 39 of the team's 40 regular season games and led the way with 65 hits. He had 15 doubles with six triples and five home runs. He also led the team with 47 RBIs, 24 walks and 51 runs scored as he batted .378 in the regular season.

Nunez also played in 39 games this season and he batted .344 with 55 hits including 12 doubles and two home runs. He had 38 RBIs. In addition, Nunez was the team's closer as he posted seven saves during the regular season. He made 11 appearances in relief and posted a 2.45 ERA in 18.1 innings pitched. He allowed 12 hits and struck out 15 batters.

Matt Hammond was one of two players on the team to play in all 40 games during the regular season. He led the Warriors with a .385 batting average. He had 62 hits including a team-high 17 doubles with four home runs and 35 RBIs. He scored 43 times and tied for third with a .452 on-base percentage.

Tellenbach led the team with 16 appearances on the mound for the Warriors including one start. He tossed 28.1 innings and struck out 22 batters as he posted a 2-1 record. He really turned it on during SCC play as he made 10 appearances and posted a 3.86 ERA with 19 strikeouts.

The Warriors will open the 2025 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs on Friday afternoon against Saddleback at 2 p.m.
