Three Individuals, Five Relay Teams Qualify for Swim State Championships

TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College swim team had three individuals and five relay teams qualify for the 2025 3C2A State Championships which will be held at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, Calif.

On the women's side, the Warriors will send Iyanah Samayoa and Olivia Mozian along with the 200 freestyle relay and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams.

For the men, Ryan Song will be headed to Santa Rosa along with 800 free relay team.

Samayoa is coming off earning Co-Swimmer of the Year honors at the South Coast Conference Championships on April 17-19. She won conference titles in the 200 individual medley along with the 100 and 200 breastroke for the second straight year.

Mozian qualified for the 3C2A State Championships in the 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events after performing well during the SCC Championships. She placed fifth in the 200 free with a time of 2:05.00 and second in the 500 free with a time of 5:21.59. The highlight of her weekend came in the 1650 free as she claimed the conference crown with a time of 18:30.47, a new personal best. She won the event by 19 seconds and posted the third best mark in the event in ECC history.

Both swimmers will be joined by Raina Henty-Dodd, Victoria Rodriguez and Alyssa Mack on the relay teams.

Song qualified for three individual events at state; the 200 and 400 IM along with the 200 breastroke. Song placed fourth in the 200 IM (1:56.85) at the SCC Championships and second in the 400 IM (4:16.81). He also recorded a podium finish in the 200 breastroke with a third-place showing (2:11.84).

Song will be joined by Brayden Sanchez, Vincenzo Crivello and Samuel Orendain for the 800 free relay. The quartet placed third at the SCC Championships with a time of 7:16.78, which ranks 10th in the ECC All-Time list.

The 3C2A State Championships will begin on Thursday, May 1 at Santa Rosa Junior College and will go through Saturday, May 3.
