NORWALK, Calif. --- No. 9 El Camino College came up one win short of advancing to the next round after a 17-6 loss to No. 5 Glendale in the deciding game of the 3C2A Super Regionals hosted by Cerritos at Kincaid Field on Saturday.

The Warriors never led and, despite clawing back within striking distance, could not withstand the offensive barrage from the Vaqueros who tallied 13 hits including two doubles and three home runs.

Ryan Matsukawa, Gil Solis and Slater Nunez all tallied two hits for the Warriors while Jack Nammack had two RBIs in the loss.

Max Price and Jackson Lyons were excellent for the victorious Vaqueros as they combined to go 5-for-9 with eight RBIs and four runs scored.

The Warriors fell behind in the second inning as the Vaqueros put up two runs to take a 2-0 lead.

In the third, the Warriors knotted the game up at 2-2 thanks to an RBI triple by Matsukawa and a sacrifice fly Lucas Bonham.

But the Vaqueros put up a big number in their half of the third, scoring six times with Price hitting a three-run home run and Lyons blasting a two-run shot in the frame.

The Warriors would fight back in the fourth with four runs to make it 8-6. Nammack hit a bases-loaded double to clear them and make it 8-5 and then Nammack would score later in the frame to bring ECC within two.

It stayed that way until the sixth when Glendale put up seven runs to essentially put the game away.

In three games against the Vaqueros, the Warriors gave up 47 runs on 46 hits.

The Warriors conclude the year with a 32-14, their most wins in a season since the 2019 squad won 40 games and came up one victory shy of the program's first state title.
