Baseball Sweeps Rio Hondo
WHITTIER, Calif. --- El Camino College extended its winning streak to seven games with a 13-3 drubbing of Rio Hondo on Saturday afternoon.
The Warriors pounded out 16 hits including two home runs, three doubles and a triple to complete the sweep of the Roadrunners.
Seven players recorded an RBI led by Nathan Rivera's three runs knocked in. He went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer and walked twice. Slater Nunez went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs while Dylan Mares belted his seventh homer of the season and third round-tripper in the last four games.
Anthony Camarena scored the win on the mound, going five innings and allowing two earned runs. Gavin Sanchez, Henry Sorman and Kona Agena tossed the last four innings in relief and combined to allow one run on three hits while striking out five to seal the victory.
The Warriors will take a break from conference play with a non-conference series against Mt. San Jacinto beginning Tuesday afternoon at Warrior Field. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
