SAN JACINTO, Calif. --- El Camino College extended its winning streak to nine games and clinched its series with Mt. San Jacinto after posting a 2-1 road victory on Thursday at MSJC.

It is the longest winning streak of the season for the Warriors. They have recorded two separate seven-game winning streaks earlier in the season.

Adrian Pineda tossed seven strong innings and allowed one run on four hits. He walked two and struck out six. His scoreless innings streak came to an end at 19.2 consecutive innings when the Eagles scored on a one-out single in the seventh to trim the ECC lead to 2-1.

The Warriors took the lead in the sixth when Slater Nunez led off the inning with a single and then Nathan Rivera doubled to left-center to plate the Warriors' shortstop for the first run of the game against Eagles' starter Isaiah Diaz.

After Rivera advanced to third on a passed ball, Dylan Mares hit an RBI single to right to bring in Rivera with what turned out to be the game-winning run.

Nunez finished the game going 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored. He would also come on to pitch the ninth inning and, despite allowing the potential game-tying run to reach second on a two-out walk and wild pitch, notched his fifth save of the season when he got Brody Boyd to flyout to left field to end the game.

The Warriors will now look to extend their winning streak to double digits and record another sweep on Friday when the Eagles come back to Warrior Field for the final game of the series. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
