Seven-Run Inning Lifts Warriors Past Cerritos in Series Opener

NORWALK, Calif. --- El Camino College used a big sixth inning to score a 10-3 South Coast Conference road victory over Cerritos on Tuesday afternoon at Kincaid Field.
The Warriors got seven runs in the sixth inning, capped off by a three-run home run by Gil Solis to turn a tied game into a laugher.
Slater Nunez had one of his best games of the season as he went 4-for-4 with four runs scored, a home run and two RBIs. Solis finished the game 2-for-5 with Caden Lewis finishing 2-for-5 with a double, triple and three RBIs.
Cameron O'Neil scored the win on the mound as he tossed seven innings and allowed three runs, two earned, on eight hits. He walked one and struck out eight to pick up his ninth win of the season.
Henry Sorman and Tyler Tellenbach each pitched an inning of scoreless relief to lock down the victory.
The Warriors have now won 11 straight games, their longest winning streak and first double-digit win streak since the team won a program record 25 straight games in 2017.
The teams will tangle again on Thursday at Warrior Field for game two of the series. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
