Water Polo Takes Two on Saturday to Remain Unbeaten

TORRANCE, Calif. --- El Camino College scored wins over Cal Tech and Citrus on Saturday to wrap up the Cypress College Tournament at the ECC Aquatics Center.

The Warriors have now won five straight matches to open the season, matching their start from 2022 when they went 5-0 to begin that campaign.

WARRIORS 11, CAL TECH 9

The Warriors opened the day with a solid win against an NCAA Division III opponent. The Warriors got three goals from Scott Fujiwara with Robbie Josic, Zane Johnson and Marc Bugarin each scoring two goals apiece.

Same Adams got the win in the cage as he made two saves on the day while Vios Lopez also played two quarters guarding the goal.

WARRIORS 20, CITRUS 16

Robbie Josic and Marc Bugarin led the charge for the Warriors with five goals apiece while Max Hale scored three times and dished out three assists in the win. Fujiwara and Heitor Trefilio each scored three times and Vios Lopez made four saves in the cage as he picked up the victory.

The Warriors will now head to the San Diego Miramar Tournament this weekend for four more matches beginning with the host Jets on Friday at 12:30 p.m. They close out the first day against Ventura at 5 p.m. before returning Saturday to take on Grossmont (9:30 a.m.) and San Diego Mesa (2 p.m.)
